The Anton Wallner Bräu
in Krimml
Manfred Opresnik is a passionate beer brewer and has been brewing his own beer at the Anton Wallner Bräu since 2008 from the pure, soft mountain spring water of the Krimmler Grünbergquelle.
The highest quality standards are set for the selection of raw materials and production of the natural beers. The best hops, the best malt and a particularly careful brewing process give the naturally cloudy beer the typical, aromatic Anton Wallner Bräu taste.
Our beer is not pasteurized, it is untreated and unfiltered (naturally cloudy). It is a natural product with a limited shelf life, which is intended for consumption as soon as possible. Store in a cool place (below 6°C).
As a so-called "artisanal" brewery, we consciously avoid experimenting with exotic fruits and plants and devote ourselves even more to the products that are available here in our region.
In addition to the various types of in-house beer, we at Anton Wallner Bräu also produce brands, liqueurs, hydrolates and essential oils. We want to extract and refine the flavors and beneficial plant substances that our untouched nature here in our homeland gives us.
Anton Wallner
Anton Wallner was born on the Hinterlehen estate in Krimml (Oberpinzgau).
After marrying Therese Egger, an innkeeper's daughter from Wald im Pinzgau, he bought the Aichberger inn in 1792 in Windisch-Matrei in Salzburg, today Matrei in East Tyrol.
The father of 16 children was commissioned by the Tyrolean peasant leader Andreas Hofer to defend the state of Salzburg in the 1809 War of Liberation against Bavaria and the French, and distinguished himself with his riflemen in the battles for the Lueg Pass.
As a testimonial and namesake of the Anton Wallner Bräus, Anton Wallner stands for tradition, freedom and love of homeland - values that we want to reflect on when we brew and enjoy our delicious Krimml beer.
